OMG! Welcome to our blog!

Here, we will write posts about pragmatic borrowings in the Nordic countries. We will write in different languages: Danish, English, Finnish, Norwegian, Icelandic and Swedish. Sometimes, the posts will be very short and perhaps only show a photo or a video with a brief comment. Other times, one of us might feel inclined to write a longer text.


In this first post, I would like to share a video presentation of a poem by Eiríkur Örn Norðdahl. The poem is called Kreppusonnetta which can be translated into English as The crisis sonnet. It was written shortly after the Icelandic bank system collapsed in 2008. I don't think you have to know Icelandic to get the message!
